Fortnite: Hottest Game of 2018

by Tejani Ten-Hue and Jacob Barnes

Fortnite is a very controversial game that blew up this year, breaking records that no game has ever done before. It has had some of the biggest gamers talking about it.

The game is appealing to all age groups which makes it so popular, and parents are beginning to say, “ they lost their kid to it.”

So what is Fortnite? Fortnite is an action-filled cartoonish game, where 100 players get onto a battle bus with an air balloon and drop into one big map. From there they fight to survive but not only are they trying to fight other players, they are trying to run from a storm that makes the map smaller every two to three minutes.

Players have to find “loot” such as guns, shields, health, and they have to gather materials to stay alive. Using their own creativity and strategy to outplay their opponent, players need to have their shots on-point. In other words, they need to have good accuracy while shooting with their gun of choice to beat the opponent. The main objective of the game is to be the last character alive to claim the Victory Royale.

Fortnite rules over every other game out there. It has a lot of features pulled from other games put into this one which makes the game really good. Players can use building structures to outbuild their opponents and squad up with friends to share the experience of the game.

One thing that isn't great, is that it can be addictive and can mess with one's health. When the player is the last person alive he/she can start shaking and his/her heart starts to pound like he/she is about to drop on a roller coaster. When the player wins, the feeling is so good that he/she just wants to keep playing.

Overall Fortnite is the best game of 2018 hands down. Epic games really knocked all the other games off the chart with this cartoon, child-friendly, competitive battle royale game. This game teaches you skill such as keep the high ground which builds IQ.

Fortnite does a good job keeping players addicted with new skins every week and more active daily players to join in the competition.
