Stress Does Not Equal Success

Everybody knows that getting straight A’s is not easy, it is hard work and a ton of studying.

Studying does not always mean stressing about something or just stress in general. Most students don't know this but stress is not a natural part of studying.

There is a big difference between stress and success. Students think in their mind that stress is proof that they are good students. A recent study shows that a third of the time students spend studying they’re actually confused, stuck or feeling worried. Stress is really a sign that your study time is not going so well.

Emotions play a big part of stress and can block your ability to pay attention. When you’re stressed you may think you are helping your brain, but really you are giving your brain permission for no learning to happen. The reason so few students get great grades is not because they aren't willing to be more stressed, but rather because stress prevents them from reaching their academic goals.

Yes, you can be stressed out and still get good grades but you can achieve those grades and more in less time if you can relieve some anxiety.

Some ways to relieve stress include focusing on accuracy, not speed and taking your time. Don't rush, read each word and learn from your mistakes. Talk to friends and ask for help when you need it people who stress too much don't even end up finishing what they are supposed to accomplish.  Bottom line, stop stressing, and just go for it!

Practice makes perfect. Study, but know it’s okay to get something wrong.  Learn from it and move on.

What stresses you out the most and why? What are you doing to stress less? Please share
