On November 13, 2019,
17- year old Billie Eilish released her new song Everything I Wanted.
This song is dedicated to her producer and her very own brother, Finneas. “No
matter what happens, we always have been and will be there to make it better,”
Billie said in a statement. The song shows a different side of Billie and her
meditation on fame. The young singer dives into her feelings about being a
global phenomenon, she sings “I had a dream I got everything I wanted/ It
might’ve been a nightmare to anyone who might care.”
On a recent radio show,
Eilish says that the song has “so many meanings” and she says what satisfies
her the most about the song is that it’s not her crapping on fame. Billie also
says, “It’s me talking about how sometimes everything you wanted is not what
you actually should. You know what I mean? It might not be exactly how you
dreamed it because it is a dream.” Billie recorded the song with her brother
Finneas and the siblings went above and beyond for it. She even went underwater
to record one of the lines.
Right now Billie is
everywhere, she cleaned up at the Grammy Awards winning 5 awards including,
Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year. If
you didn’t know who she was before, you certainly will know her now.
